Is it legal for a teacher to invite a student to their house to...?

Hi, I am in Nursing school and we had a girl to miss class , she went to see the teacher at school for the material she missed, but the teacher had already left. So, she called the teacher and the teacher invited her over to her house and she went over what she missed...I don't think this is right because she got an "A" and I think it's because she had one on one ..Isn't this violation of ethics or something??

It's fine. They are both adults. I was in college a couple of years ago and our professor had us over for lunch and whatnot. If you are questioning because you think something is unfair and that's why the girl got an A, you might want to bring it to the attention of the dean. Otherwise, I think it's fine.
Reply:Nothing unethical occurred, in fact you should feel lucky that you have such a dedicated teacher who is willing to help someone from her home. Furthermore, if you are having issues in the class it seems to me that if you talked to the teacher she would sit down, one-on-one, with you too. Rather than be bitter and hold on to the anger, use it to do something productive like take better notes, start a study group which the teacher stops into once and a while, etc.
Reply:You're kidding, right? I would certainly hope so. She got an "A" so it must have been because she went to the teacher's house?!?! Come on. Here you have a teacher willing to go out of her way to help her students and you just complain. I swear, some people are never happy. I suppose if she had refused to use her own time to help the girl make it up, you would get on Yahoo and ask if that were legal, too?
