Do most offices invite the staff's significant other to their Christmas Party?

I am just wondering because my husband said the Christmas Party for where he works (a medical office) is Staff Only....Is this normal?

Every office Christmas party I've been a part of always included an invitation to the spouse or one guest.
Reply:Well, it's more common to allow spouses, but it is normal to have staff only parties.
Reply:Most other people I know do have significant other included parties. My staff does not either though, so I know some places don't. I don't go to it, by the way. I'd rather spend that time with my husband.
Reply:We always invite and cater for families at our Xmas parties.


I am a family person though. When my husband was working for other people he would not go unless it was for family.
Reply:I've actually heard of a lot of companies doing that. It's hard to tell whether he just wants to be "free" there..or if that is their actual christmas party policy. I'd look more into it somehow.
