How do you invite a friend to play madden 09 on xbox live?

I am trying to invite my friend to play on madden 09 xbox live and do not know how?? need help
How do you invite a friend to play madden 09 on xbox live?
Click the middle button on the controller that u use to turn on the console. Then go to there gamertag when there online and go to invite to game. Then u will come to the team selection screen and from there have fun!
